Create a mobile wallet
In this guide we will show you how to install and configure Unstoppable Wallet, a userfriendly crypto wallet that supports a selection of decent cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, Ethereum and others.
We like Unstoppable Wallet because it is an Open Source project with a decent contributor base and has a bunch of cool features.
If you want to try this wallet but you are not sure how to set it up properly, then continue reading.
Before you start
Download Unstoppable Wallet from your favorite app store and install the app (download links are on their website).
First run
When you open the app the first time, you'll have to tap past three highlights, just ignore them.
Tap New Wallet
Accept the Terms and Conditions. Make sure to read them, it's useful information.
Create a new Wallet
Now it gets interesting!
Change "Wallet 1" to whatever you like, then tap CREATE. Nevermind "Advanced" for now.
This bit is important: Tap Manual Backup, to reveal the recovery phrase of your wallet.
A recovery phrase (also called seed) is a string of random words, that together are the key to your wallet.
ALWAYS keep your recovery phrase SECRET, be aware that those who know the seed can take all the money from the wallet!
Because Unstoppable Wallet protects sensitive information from screenshots, we had to take pictures of the screen. Sorry for the bad quality.
Tap "Tap to show recovery phrase"
Write down all the words of the recovery phrase on a piece of paper and keep it somewhere safe!
You can use the recovery phrase to recreate your wallet on a new phone, in case your phone gets lost or stolen.
Now verify that you have written down your seed.
Match the correct word with the numbered field.
In this example this would be: (see previous screenshot too)
10. Rich
12. Lawn
If you selected the correct words, your wallet is verified. (if the backup screen returns, just restart the app and it will go away, it seems some kind of bug)
The Wallet homescreen
Everything you need you can access from here.
If you only want to see your Bitcoin wallet, open the coin manager.
Disable the coins you don't want in the homescreen
If you go back to the homescreen it's much cleaner now.
Show wallet address
If you want to receive Bitcoin from someone, you will need to give them your address.
From the homescreen, tap the receive button.
Share the QR code with the person that wants to send you some coins.
You can also copy/paste the raw address, which in the example starts with bc1qy5...
Other settings
You can change many settings, most important a passcode for the app.
From the settings page choose Security
Tap Enable passcode and follow the instructions
