Setup 2 Factor authentication

Setup 2 Factor (2FA) authentication for your oblak account to add an extra layer of security.

With 2FA enabled you are protected from a hacker that has intercepted your password. The hacker will need simulatenous access to your phone and your password to get into your account.

Install a 2FA app

oblak 2FA is compatible with most 2FA/MFA apps (sometimes 2FA is called MFA, multi factor authentication). There's Google Authenticator, Microsoft Authenticator, and so on.

We strongly recommend to download FreeOTP+ because it allows you to easily backup your 2FA codes and store them on Nextcloud.

Configure your oblak account

1. Log in to your oblak account.
2. On your Dashboard select Settings.
3. In the Account Security block, choose signing in
4. At the bottom right on the screen choose Set up Authenticator Application
5. The page displays a QR code, scan it with your 2FA app
6. On the same page, enter a device name in the Device Name field
7. enter the 6 digits that are displayed in the FreeOTP+ app in the One-time code field.
8. Click Submit, and you're done.

When you log in again, you will have to enter the 6 digits displayed in the FreeOTP+ app.

Removing 2FA from your oblak account

You can disable 2Factor authentication at any time.

1. Log in to your oblak account.
2. On your Dashboard select Settings.
3. In the Account Security block, choose signing in
4. Click the remove button, which is displayed on the right next to your registered device.
