Configure dns settings

DNS is a fundamental building block of the internet, so every device has support for it built-in. You don't need to download an app to manage your DNS, but you need to read up on where you can configure the DNS settings on your system. Mostly it's a section in network settings.

The IP addresses of our DNS servers you may use in your configuration:

daan.oblak.be - 89.147.108.180

dana.oblak.be - 93.95.231.108

These DNS servers support DoT (DNS over TLS), so DNS queries are encrypted in transit. We do not log DNS traffic.

Use a local DNS proxy

If you want to use our DNS using multiple devices (laptop, TV, ...) that not yet support DoT, you can set up an Unbound DNS proxy. You can then point your devices to the proxy using plain DNS on port 53. The proxy will forward queries to the oblak DNS using TLS encryption.

To learn how to install Unbound open the Unbound docs. You can use our ready to go Unbound config file, so you are up and running in no time.
